Krishna decides to teach Arjuna and Bheema (the third and second of the Pandavas) a lesson since they are becoming very arrogant and consider themselves invincible. But do read up a little bit of the Mahabharata (even the Amar Chitra Katha comic version will do) so that you get of the background story.Nalinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08234113006013715820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-79723819638700739.post-1587983317720058852012-04-07T05:39:55.788-07:002012-04-07T05:39:55.788-07:00IT is a fantastic film. Almost everyone in the movie has way too much attitude. I especially loved Savitri(the female lead) and Ranga Rao(who plays the Rakshasa Ghatotkacha), and I felt these actors had had a lot of fun doing their roles.

I'd recommend Rajaji's Mahabharata to start with and then look at various interpretations and retellings if you're further interested. It's a bit basic, but it's kinda the version most people take as 'standard', though of course, with a book like the MB, there is scope for any number of perspectives and interpretations.

Anyways, I think I've gone on too long. Maya Bazar does that to me.Arundhatihttp://wanderzoo.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-79723819638700739.post-4855620585600202572010-02-06T09:41:13.838-08:002010-02-06T09:41:13.838-08:00Now i want to watch this- such fabulous bluesness ...Now i want to watch this- such fabulous bluesness and accessories!Shweta Mehrotra Gahlawathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13543438271055378809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-79723819638700739.post-46827803700462381092010-02-06T05:59:47.348-08:002010-02-06T05:59:47.348-08:00Well, Abhimanyu is the son of Arjuna. I bet I've seen this, or one like this, when I was a kid - back then they were big on showing all of NTR's hits on DD Hyderabad (he was chief minister then). So I can completely understand your warm glow of satisfaction! :-)

PS: He is N. T. Rama Rao, and not N. T.
