Our first viewing of the Om Shanti Om of 2008 is but twelve hours away (yes! we live by the International Date Line - how do you THEM apples?!). We are speaking, of course, of the newest SRK film, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (A Match Made in Heaven), a film we are already predisposed to love because it's named after one of our maximum favorite Shashi Kapoor songs from our maximum favorite masala movie, Suhaag. And directed by Aditya Chopra! And SRK is going for his nerdy look again! Triple yes.
In the usual style, they've released the soundtrack early so that we can get an idea of the movie's vibe. While we haven't fallen in mad love with it like we did with Om Shanti Om's music, we are very much enjoying it. Also because it seems to be promising some great picturizations.
1. Haule Haule - The lovely Sukhwinder Singh, backed by a Jhoom Barabar Jhoom-esque harmonium ditty as leit motif. Lovely.
2. Dance Pe Chance - Is it just the PPCC, or does this song sound like Chori Mera Kaam's Main Kacche Angoor Ki remixed?
3. Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte - We're most excited to see this picturization, what with the Awaara/general Raj Kapoor/Shammi Kapoor/"YAHOO!" references. Perhaps nerdy SRK protagonist is a purani film buff? (Yet another reason to love him.)
4. Tujhe Mein Rab Dikhta Hai - The usual slow, comforting fluff. You guys know we love sweet syruppy reprises.
Eleven hours. Pass quickly, day! YAHOO!

jealous :-)
can't wait to read your review!
The thought of RNBDJ tonight has been the only thing that has brightened up a really terrible week. Love the soundtrack - I've had it in my car for a while now, and still grin every time it gets to 'Yahoo!'
Yay for nerdy SRK!
Aaaaah, am *so* jealous. I have to wait till next weekend to see it. :-(
I have no idea when we'll get to see RNBDJ in these parts...DVD release? So just imagine the "jealous, jealous, jealous" unto infinity.
